why truck pulls to one side on the brakes

Full Size Blazers and Jimmys have unique issues and they go here

why truck pulls to one side on the brakes

Postby jcblazerfan on Thu Aug 10, 2006 3:18 pm

I don't know why it does this but I believe I once heard that is a characteristic of K5 blazers. I had a friend whose blazer did the same thing. Something about the suspension NOT break system, which I have rebuilt. Anyone know why it pulls to the right? Thanks, it's irritating crap out of me and I'm worried I'm going to take out a few small import cars in the next lane, which wouldn't be so bad I guess.

both mine steer straight.Be sure you do not overlook the brake hoses as they can cause a brake pull even though they look good, they could be constricting internally.

Are all of your tires aired up to the same pressure...

Check your disc pads. Are they wearing even. A caliber may be starting to stick. Make sure your pads are clean. A bit of fluid or grease will make them grab harder. Control arm bushings maybe?

i have this same problem on my '88 k5. i replaced the lines with stainless braided to no avail. my next move is pulling the calipers down for a rebuild. that should solve my problem

Also, check the slides and pins on the caliber.1 may be stuck and caliber not being applied even on the other side.

i had the same problem with my 90 blazer ,i replace and rebuilt everything in brake system ( pads-disc-caliber-hoses)
after all of that ,i am sure it is no problem in brake system.
i am with your opinion it is suspension problem, maybe its cause from old accident on right side ,check your (chessis or spring lift) need alignment or balance
